Personal
statement is the only part of the application
where the student have a chance to select
and emphasis about him/her self.
The
student should say something about the below
in the Personal statement
Your career aspirations.
Your reasons for choosing the course.
The name of any sponsor you may have. Relatively
few students are sponsored through their
course and you will not be at a disadvantage
if you have nothing to include in this section.
Institutions are keen to know, however,
if you have been able to secure this form
of financial support. If you have applied
for sponsorship but do not yet know whether
you have been successful, say where you
have applied.
Relevant background or experience, which
may include work experience, or work
shadowing, practical activity in music or
theatre, attendance at courses, time abroad.
Any interest, including sports, you may
have which are not strictly relevant to
the
course, but help to give an impression of
you as a person.
Some
Tips:
Think about the impression you want to give.
Organise the material.
Write very clearly, and don't try to pack
too much in.
Only put in things you are prepared to talk
about at interview.
Check the spelling!
Don't repeat material that already appears
on the application form.
