A
first degree, usually leading to a Bachelor
of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc)
or equivalent, is a qualification normally
gained after three or more years of study
at a university or similar institution.
Degree
studies usually begin after a student has
completed school education at the age of
seventeen or eighteen. There is no age limit
for candidates.
While
most first degrees leading to BA (Bachelor
of Arts), BSc (Bachelor of Science) or equivalent
qualifications normally take three years,
there are many subjects where it is necessary
to study for a longer period. Some courses
run as a 'sandwich' course lasting four
years, with one year (usually the third
year of a programme) spent in industry as
a work placement.
Many
international students from different parts
of the world come to UK as British bachelor's
degree are admired throughout the world.
